My first impression on the movie when I saw its title is that it’s about love and illegal drugs. I was also half-expecting this movie to be an excuse for the makers to make Anne Hathaway and Jake Gyllenhaal appear naked on screen. I was pleasantly surprise though that I enjoyed the movie and gained some pharmaceutical knowledge along the way. I learned that Zoloft has been around for years and it can increase the likelihood of suicide in teen users (as mentioned by Jake’s character to another rep), why one should not take multiple doses of Viagra in one go and just how dirty the pharmaceutical field can get.

Love and Other Drugs tells the story of Jaime Randall (Jake Gyllenhaal) that happened around 1997. The movie starts with Jamie as an electronics salesman and being a jerk by having sex with his manager’s girlfriend. A typical good-looking jerk that is charismatic and smart but without much care with his life or relationships. Coming from a family of achievers and freshly unemployed, he decides to take on the job of a drug salesman for Pfizer. The story changed when she met the headstrong Maggie Murdoc (Anne Hathaway)in a clinic while she’s waiting for her medications as she has early-onset Parkinson’s disease. They had one night then pursued a serious relationship while faced with a lot of dilemmas such as Maggie’s fear of commitment and Jamie’s struggle to prove himself, not to be mention her failing state of health.

For the most part, I was enjoying myself with the witty banter and the steamy scenes between the two. One scene I found amusing was when Jaime had panic attacks when he said “I love you” to Maggie and Maggie replied “I said I love you to a cat once” to calm him down. However, the film suddenly became serious as they started finding ways on how to manage Maggie’s worsening Parkinson’s disease. It’s not that I’m against the emotional side of it because I think it’s appropriate, but the way the movie suddenly became serious was not properly transitioned in my opinion.

It’s no secret that both Jake and Anne complement each other on the screen. I just wish for a more solid material next time for both actors so we’ll see what they’re really made off. This movie was based on the non-fiction book by Jamie Reidy, Hard Sell: The Evolution of a Viagra Salesman, which means that this is a true story. The movie was set in 1997 but the mentioned drugs are still around, some are believed to cause side effects such as in Zoloft birth defects. Also, I would like to believe that Love and Other Drugs became an advertisement for Pfizer as Zoloft and Viagra were repeatedly mentioned in the movie.

For Pieter's entire oil-portrait-artist life's time did he breathe, until, in Haarlem, upon the 16th day of August, in the year, of our Lo'ward 1657, he left breathin.

Of the Dutch Republic, North Holland, was the most powerful, of the seven provinces. Haarlem was the head burg thereof.

Here, for you, is a description, of that famous painting, by Marcel Duchamp, who was one, of the pioneers, of modern art paintings.

The painter bound together about 20 sundry shots of a nude woman, and sundered, stripped, and lessened them, then lapped them over one another.

An art critic for a newspaper, called the New York Times, was named Julian Street. He wrote, that Marcel’s original painting looked, as if it were "an explosion in a shingle factory".

The artist said, that the stop-motion photography of Étienne-Jules Marey flowed into this fine art painting.

There was a book, that the artist may have seen, by a critter, by the name, of Eadweard Muybridge. That selfsame book was made in 1887. Animal Locomotion was the title of the book. In it was a chain of twenty-four imitations, of a naked woman going down a stairs. Marcel may have seen that book, before he created his abstract painting art.

Thomas Eakins, of the U.S.A., did also chains of likenesses movin in time. The painter may have seen these, as well as the others, before he made his oil painting.
